Indian traditions weave around
nature. Every element of nature is appreciated and is integrated into
paintings. The Peacock is the national bird of India and is also the vehicle of
an Indian diety called Murugan or Karthikeyan, son of Lord Shiva, the Destroyer
of the Universe. India has plenty of peacocks and rainy seasons bring them in
grandeur. Here, 4 pretty peacocks are seen perched on branches surrounded by
flowers, resplendent in purple and orange hues. There is an elephant is looking
on. The significance of elephants in Indian tradition to royalty and represent Good Luck. The Kings used
them as vehicles to travel or while waging wars. These elephants are
decorated according to the use and have since ages served humans.
