Indian traditions weave around
nature. Every element of nature is appreciated and is integrated into
paintings. There are 2 sets of 4 fishes drawn in a circle. The significance of
fishes in Indian tradition goes back to the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu, where
the 2nd avatar is the Matsya or Fish form of Lord Vishnu. These
avatars are known to destroy Evil in various Ages and are associated with
symbolic folklore. Colourful fishes swimming with flowers are defined with fine
lines.
