The themes are on Seasons and this theme is the Monsoon Season. Megh Raga is depicted as a monsoon mode, a Raga of romance and joy against the background of majestic dark clouds, lightening etc. Rain is considered as the harbinger of love-making, lighting in the sky as an expression of passion and rainfall creates a pleasant atmosphere for the lovers, the sprays of plums and pink blossoms of peaches are emblems of youth life and joy. The white plum blossom is symbolic of spiritual strength and beauty. Pink peach blossom signifies bodily or sensuous beauty.  The rain stimulates the yearning for a shared savouring of its benediction. The colour scheme hence is Indigo, a prominent colour in Rajasthan. The painting is set on the outdoor, like on a terrace, where the damsel is seated on a wodden seat with a big bolster, playing the damru or Lord ShivaÔÇÖs instrument.

The painting has really intricate precisions on the lady and flooring. The Indigo veil (Odhinis) over the maidenÔÇÖs head has white dots, the seat and the flooring have motifs and symmetric/ asymmetric designs. The Indigo settings of the background accentuate the ladyÔÇÖs ornaments in white, necklace, bangles, nose ring etc). Her feet are painted red/ orange to show the colour of the mehendi or the Henna plant. In India, women traditionally used this to colour their hands and feet, sometimes with intricate designs and sometimes just anointing the fingers and toes. This acts as an antiseptic for cracked heels and cuticles. When the painting is placed against the light, the yellow / gold lines reflect. Originally, they were made using gold. The picture is complete with a floral border that looks like its frame. The flowers again are made in gold paints with tiny buds in silver paints.
