The Horse, Camel and Elephant
hold a very symbolic status in the princely state of Rajasthan. All 3 are part
of the army where the valiant warriors were astride these magnificent animals
when they go out to conquer battles. These animals were decked in finery for
all celebrations. Resplendent with elaborate and ornate finery, the Elephant
represented Good Luck, the Horse symbolised Power and the Camel stood for Love.
Intricately designed ornaments and embroidered silk were used to deck the
animals which were later paraded by the gallantry. The picture is complete with
a thin, frame like border that looks like its frame. The lines again are made
in gold paints. When the painting is placed against the light, the yellow /
gold lines reflect. Originally, they were made using gold. The picture is
complete with a straight-line border that looks like its frame.
