A scene showing Lord Krishna, the
8th avatar of Lord Vishnu, with Radha, his beloved. She is a
milkmaid and is Lord KrishnaÔÇÖs lover and companion. She is considered an avatar
of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord VishnuÔÇÖs wife. In the Indian mythology, Radha
represents the soul and her longing for the Lord, symbolizes the yearning for
the spiritual and divine. Lord Krishna looks lovingly at Radha and is holding
the flute. Radha has a pot on her head while she peers into KrishnaÔÇÖs eyes,
love lorn. Two peacocks perched on top of the tree are looking on. The tree, branches, leaves and flowers fill
the entire piece.
